Close, collaborative relationships are vital to the highest quality of services that I-Light provides to colleges and universities, state government, and public media in the state of Indiana. Each year, the I-Light community convenes for its two-day Members Meeting. In face-to-face, informative, and productive sessions members discuss the latest network trends and technologies, new initiatives and opportunities, and the current and future needs of their institutions. I-Light Members Meetings additionally foster community connection and engagement.
In 2020, with health and safety risks rendering in-person meetings impossible, commitment to community inspired I-Light’s decision to gather its members together virtually for its 14th annual Members Meeting, which was held in two consecutive half-day sessions on November 4-5.
The 2020 virtual Members Meeting gave I-Light members and collaborative partners opportunity to share and reflect on challenges faced, resources available, efforts undertaken, lessons learned, and successes achieved over the past year. Also included were various exchanges about responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sessions comprised panel presentations and related discussions on specific topics as well as open discussion time. Members had the chance to meet virtually with vendors in designated Zoom rooms before the start of sessions on day 1. At the end of the first day’s sessions, members joined a virtual happy half-hour to catch up and reconnect.
More than 70 representatives from the I-Light community registered for the event and participated in various parts of the 2020 virtual Member Meeting, with each segment of the agenda drawing dozens of viewers. Following is a list of the event’s panels and presenters:
